No Snow.

Ski season 2016 is off to a dire start. Out of the two Wanaka based ski resorts only one is open, however having been on the hill 4 times I would not be recomending any kind of a journey to visit the mountain. It takes me around 40 mins to get from my front door on Helwick street to the top of the mountain and I woke up yesterday and desided to go back to sleep. Unseasonably warm weather and rain has washed most of the snow that was around away.
Cardrona Ski have doubled the snow making ability since last season and it seems as if without the extra snow guns (which are running 24 hours) there would be dirt where the snow should be.
However with the average snow fall normally being the same every year we are due some good times to come. Fingers crossed.
